Cover variant released as an appendix of the omnibus magazine Gantz REBOOT n.1 in 2012.

In this cover art, you can understand why the author Hiroya Oku is considered a master (and a pioneer) in the use of digital processing for manga backgrounds.

The name – totally invented by me – is because all of the explosions and chaos in an urban setting reminds me of a classic Michael Bay’s disaster movie.

Gantz omnibus situation is a giant mess. You can find 3 different editions on the market, watch out for what you buy:

1. The first omnibus series was released in 2006/07 with the title “Gantz the 1000“. These volumes are the rarest and have variants
2. The second one was released in 2011. It’s a reprint with the same title (“Gantz the 1000“) but different covers. Careful, these volumes do not contain any variants
3. The third one was released in 2012. Still a reprint but with the title “Gantz REBOOT” and same covers as the 2nd edition. These volumes have variants
