3.9 Hatsune Miku variant

Crossover variant released as an appendix of the omnibus magazine Gantz REBOOT n.2 in 2012.

The artwork is drawn by Hayashi Kentaro, the author of a comic strip series about Hatsune Miku, the famous vocaloid.

Number 3.9 on the cover is a pun on how “39” can be pronounced as Mi-ku in japanese, while the spring onion is a reference to the “Loituma Girl/Leekspin” parody meme. Last but not least, the onion alien really appears in the series.

Gantz omnibus situation is a giant mess. You can find 3 different editions on the market, watch out for what you buy:

1. The first omnibus series was released in 2006/07 with the title “Gantz the 1000“. These volumes are the rarest and have variants
2. The second one was released in 2011. It’s a reprint with the same title (“Gantz the 1000“) but different covers. Careful, these volumes do not contain any variants
3. The third one was released in 2012. Still a reprint but with the title “Gantz REBOOT” and same covers as the 2nd edition. These volumes have variants
