Wait… didn’t Italy already release this exact same volume with the same extras about a year and a half ago?
That’s the question every Italian collector asked when this edition was announced. And the answer is: yes, it did… but that one wasn’t black.
A bit of context: in Italy, the so-called main edition of Berserk is the Collection. It’s split into two parallel versions: the “red series”, the original print run that has become increasingly hard to find, and the “black series”, which is essentially a reprint of the red one but with the cover edges in… you guessed it, black. To this day, both versions continue to release side by side, catering to the most meticulous collectors who want their shelves perfectly uniform.
