This variant is so rare that, in all these years, I have never seen a single photo of an actual copy. So elusive that I still have doubts about whether it even truly exists. Like a ghost.

The reality is that Silver Spoon DVDs/Blu-rays never sold in large numbers (only a few thousand copies per volume), meaning this variant was likely distributed in just a few hundred copies at most!

Yet, the historical significance of this cover goes beyond its scarcity. This was the very first collaboration where the now-famous phrase “No Anime, No Life” was born – adapted from Tower Records’ iconic slogan “No Music, No Life.”

In the years that followed, this phrase would become iconic, marking every collaboration between Tower Records and the anime industry.

Alongside Detroit Metal City and Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe, it completes the legendary Tower Records variant trilogy. And among them, this one is the rarest of all.

But the question remains, Silver Spoon – Tower Records variant: urban legend or elusive reality?
