Vol.1 – Anteprima #234 variant

Volume 1 cover variant released as an appendix of the magazine Anteprima n.234, February 2011.

This is a result of an “artistic exchange” between Chika Umino and her friend Kentaro Miura. In 2008 Umino drew a cover for Berserk while Kentaro Miura drew this variant for March Comes In like a Lion.

The artwork is iconic, so much so that it has been re-released globally countless times. However, this cover also holds significant historical value, as it was one of the first variant covers to be released as an insert in an Italian magazine, something extremely common in Japan but exceptionally rare in Italy.

Of all the versions that exist worldwide, this one is the rarest. And it was even rarer before it was reissued in a lackluster way…
