Half Century Boy – variant

Paper cover distributed by HMW online store during a promotional campaign in Japan.

For 3 months, every customer who purchased a book through HMV online store entered a lottery to receive the cover. 100 winners were drawn every day

The boy on the cover is the Hanseiki no Otoko who gave the name and also appeared on the cover of Urasawa’s first music album (yes, if you didn’t know, Naoki Urasawa is also a musician). In this original illustration, the Half Century Boy has an HMV shopping bag in its hand. This variant is a gem not to be underestimated.

N.B: HMV is a music and entertainment retailer, founded in the United Kingdom in 1921. In most of the world, the brand is owned by JD Sports and operated by Sunrise Records, except in Japan, where it is owned and operated by Lawson, the convenience store chain.
