Vol.1 – Limited edition

Published by:
    VIZ Media
Copies:
    5.000

The historic and best-selling Japanese manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump debuted in the US in 2003. Retooled for the American audience, including changing from a weekly publication to a monthly one, it featured serialized chapters from 7 of Shueisha’s mega hits:

To celebrate this initial line-up, the publisher VIZ Media released a limited edition for every series.  These editions were limited to 5.000 copies each, and the entire volume was covered with a rainbow foil effect.

Rarest ones are Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and One Piece, but don’t be fooled the others are no joke either. The silver-colored background of Naruto’s volume is perfect for the holofoil effect.

Toughest part when trying to collect these beasts? They are virtually impossible to find in pristine condition (the foil patina is delicate and scratches very easily). American friends didn’t you have protective manga sleeves at that time?
