Vol.72 – NYCC variant

Volume 72 variant to celebrate Masashi Kishimoto’s attendance at New York Comic-Con 2015. As per Comic-Con tradition, the artwork on the front cover was exclusive to the festival and purchasable, together with other goods, at the publisher’s booth (VIZ Media).

The front cover has a pre-printed autograph from Kishimoto.

Stunning. The linework is bold to the point of being overwhelming, with black ink bleeding past the contours and spilling across the page…a true breath of fresh air.

It hardly even looks like Naruto anymore, slipping effortlessly into that rare category of variants you’d expect only the Americans to create.

Incredibly rare and sold out almost immediately.
