Color Fiesta is one of the biggest artist-focused events in Vietnam, especially for people into comics, animation, video games, and cosplay. It brings together a large community of illustrators (mainly young artist), creators, cosplayers, and fans.
The event started in the summer of 2018 in Ho Chi Minh City, with a school-themed first edition. Since then, they’ve been holding it twice a year in the same city, and it’s grown steadily; by 2024, they had reached their 12th edition, with around 20.000 attendees.
A fun part of the event is its mascots, Lin and Dot, a dog and a cat that represent the blend between traditional and digital art. They’ve been part of the event since the beginning and change slightly each year to match the event’s seasonal theme. Their names come from simple symbols: the link (–) and the dot (.), meant to symbolize connection and conclusion.
Like many Vietnamese festivals, Color Fiesta works closely with Kim Dong Publishing, which supports the event through fan meetups, dedicated panels, and special editions of its manga lineup.
