What makes a beautiful variant, exceptional?

Each one of you will have a different answer. For some, it’s the sheer beauty of the artwork, for others, it’s the emotional bond with the series; some might be drawn to special effects, premium materials, striking design, or simply the fact that it’s rare (yes, those people exist too).

For me, though, it’s something far more elusive, something words can’t quite capture. That feeling, the instant spark you get the moment you touch it and realize you’re holding a true collector’s piece, crafted with obsessive attention to detail. There are very few variants that belong to this elite category, so few you could count them on one hand. And when it comes to Japanese variants, it’s even rarer. After all, most of them are just dust jackets without the actual volume inside. Think about it, how do you even make a dust jacket cool on its own?

Well, the Red Ken is one of those.

I know it sounds like nonsense, but the moment you hold it, you know. The paper is thicker, making the cover feel heavier and sturdier. The design is more refined. The colors are richer. The kanji on the inner flap, though razor-thin, are embossed. And the gold accents shine brighter than any other gold-foil variant you’ve ever seen.

And let’s be real, this will probably be the rarest variant in your entire collection. So no…at the beginning I said that everyone would have their own answer, but I lied, this cover is the answer for everyone
