Taiyo Matsumoto premium box – Variants set

Special box set collecting Taiyo Matsumoto’s early works (1990–2010) in pocket-size bunko format.

The box includes 8 different series for a total of 19 volumes:

• Zero
• Hanaotoko
• Blue Spring
• Tekkonkinkreet
• Ping Pong
• GoGo Monster
• No.5
• Takemitsu zamurai

The interesting detail is that inside the box there are 8 variant covers, one per title, each reproducing the original covers of the series when they were first released.

Even though I’m not sure I would personally use them, the new all–black-and-white coordinated cover design has its own understated appeal. To each their own.

NOTE: I placed this set of variants in the Ping Pong manga section purely for convenience. As you’ve probably guessed, these are actually 8 variants for 8 different titles.
