In the most classic french fashion, let me say “Oh là là…”
Released exclusively during Japan Expo 2010, it was obtainable by purchasing at least 2 volumes of One Piece at the publisher’s stand (Glenat). It celebrates the 10th anniversary of publication in France.
This cover is legendary mainly for two reason:
1)It is one of the rarest and most expensive variant in the world (last known sales ~2.000€)
2)It is a 1 to 1 replica of the Japanese Natsucomi variant that you can get for 1/100 of its price.
What a shame that one of the, maybe, three rarest French variants ever uses a recycled artwork. If it had been an original illustration (like the Naruto one, for example), we’d be looking at the ultimate collector’s dream.
As it stands, it’s just an epic flex for the French chauvinists.
