Vol.1 – SDCC variant

Volume 1 variant to celebrate Kohei Horikoshi’s attendance at San Diego Comic-Con 2018. It was exclusive to the festival and purchasable at the publisher’s booth (VIZ Media).

The cover art features an original illustration made specifically for the Comic-Con, which was also on sale as a numbered poster.

Well, well, well, one of the rarest My Hero Academia variant is actually… quite divisive, between those who love it for its simplicity and those who hate it for the same reason. I think the illustration stands out better on the poster, but the usage of black & white is something that you don’t see very often in a series that always had very “dense” and colorful covers.
