Vol.10 – Inio Asano variant

Volume 10 cover variant released as an appendix of the magazine Monthly Spirits n.12, December 2012.

This cover is quite unique, it was in fact illustrated by the mangaka Inio Asano, a long-time friend of Kengo Hanazawa (I Am a Hero‘s author).

Now, we all know Inio Asano for some of his masterpieces like Goodnight Punpun, Dead Demon Destruction, and so on… however, what many people don’t know is Asano’s prolific cross-media activity.

Just to list a few: he wrote lyrics for Dempangumi.inc a female idol group, he drew an advertising illustration for the 5th anniversary of Pokemon GO, he appeared as a model in a cigarette commercial, he illustrated a card for the TCG Duel Masters…  a true multi-faceted genius who likes to experiment.

Having a gore-y cover variant in his extremely recognizable style deserves the top spot.

Absurdly rare, absurdly beautiful.
