Limited to 100 copies.

During Soccer World Cup 2022, MAGAPOKE – the official Kodansha platform for reading manga online –  held a lottery where 100 lucky people could win this special tissue cover. To enter the drawing you had to purchase chapter 197 through the app.

Despite being one of the rarest Japanese variants in terms of quantity (only 100 copies for a super popular manga), it’s not that hard to find in Europe and prices haven’t skyrocketed as much as they should have. I’m pretty sure that of those 100 copies, 80 are currently between Italy and France, creating an artificial bubble that gives the illusion that this variant isn’t that special. The truth is, fabric covers just aren’t seen as “collectible items” in Japan… so every last copy made its way to Europe instead.
