Vol.38 – Shibuya variant

Variant cover given as a bonus to those who purchased Berserk vol.38 or Young Animal n.13 (July 2016) only at the TSUTAYA store in Shibuya.

The artwork itself isn’t groundbreaking, it mirrors the style of the standard volumes (white frame, marbled texture…) and features a famous illustration that appears in other Berserk editions worldwide (for example, the Italian Berserk #72 regular edition).

But from a collector’s perspective, this is nothing short of legendary. For years, its very existence was a mystery in the West. When it finally surfaced, only a handful of copies circulated, with barely any recorded sales.

In the end, this is an exceptionally rare cover of a beloved manga whose author passed away prematurely.
