Welcome to the Ballroom – Blue

In summer 2017, to launch the anime “Welcome to the Ballroom“, a promotional collab with Captain Levi from Attack on Titan was put in motion.

The collaboration made sense for a lot of reasons

• TIMING: Welcome to the Ballroom anime aired a few weeks later Attack on Titan season 2 ended. On the same TV channel.
• OPERATIONAL: Production I.G (WttB) was the parent company of WIT Studio (AoT).
• DEMOGRAPHIC: Levi was very popular among women, an audience that probably would have enjoyed Welcome to the Ballroom anime.
• STYLISTIC: Levi’s battle style with ODM gear was so dynamic and so elegant that “it seemed like he was dancing on the battle floor”

Two cover variants were produced for the event and distributed as a purchase bonus in selected bookstores. The blue one was exclusive to Animate stores, the white one was for every other non-Animate bookstore participating in the campaign.
