In the spring of his third year of middle school, Hajime Sato discovers a classmate, Shibata, buried up to his neck beneath a cherry blossom tree. They quickly bond over their shared love for cinema and plan to create a film for the school festival. However, none of their peers seem to know Shibata, leading to a series of surreal and grotesque events.
