Hello! Spank

Serialized in the shojo magazine Nakayoshi from 1978 to 1982.

Aiko’s father goes missing at sea, and while her mother moves to France to work as a hat designer, Aiko goes to live with her uncle Fujinami, a painter.

Soon after settling in, Aiko tragically loses her dog, Puppy, in a traffic accident. That’s when she meets Spank, a peculiar white stray who lives by the beach. Spank, who also lost his owner at sea, tries in his own clumsy way to cheer Aiko up. Nosy and awkward but endearing, Spank gradually wins Aiko’s heart, and the two start living together.
